Philip Travers
Philip Travers was born in London and studied at Sutton School of Art and the London School of Printing. In his early career he designed record sleeves for bands such as the Moody Blues.
Landscape and rural scenes are Travers’s main preoccupation, often including figures and animals which combine with his surroundings to add a narrative element to his work. Light and shade is used continously with a dynamism that can be likened to great artists in the past. His ability to convey moods and feelings in his paintings to produce atmospheric and dramatic images displays a sensitivity that is unique.
